| What is the SWLA Volunteer Coordination and Housing Center? We are recruiting volunteers to help with the long term recovery process in Southwest Louisiana. Not only are we recruiting but we are also housing these volunteers. There are several agencies involved, including non-profit, faith based, area government agencies, other volunteer centers, and local agencies who are utilizing these volunteers. First you contact us and let us know when you want to come. We schedule you for that time at our housing facility. (200 beds available) See our photo page to view our facility. Then we go to work contacting agencies and getting information on what projects they have available. Then we schedule you with an agency and they will have projects ready when you arrive. (note that sometimes projects scheduled will be changed due to priority needs) When you arrive at the center you will be met by one of our staff, given a tour, an introduction to the guidelines in our facility, locations of the showers, rest rooms, kitchen, and other areas of our Center, and a bed then you will be ready to volunteer. If you have any comments or questions Please feel free to contact us info@swlavolunteercoordination.org |
